Hebrew with Atara Hadad

Atara Hadad (B.Ed.) is a qualified and experienced Hebrew teacher for adults, working in ulpanim in Israel and abroad for more than 30 years, with “olim hadashim" as well as with new Hebrew teachers.

She was sent by the Hebrew Language Division of W.Z.O. for two years to the U.K. as the coordinator of Hebrew studies in the north-west of England and Scotland. She organized and lectured in seminars for local teachers in Italy, France, Belgium and Romania. She worked as a regional coordinator in the Adult Education Unit of Educational T.V. and taught young soldiers to become teachers for new immigrants in the ulpanim of ZAHAL. She has been teaching our advanced Hebrew class in AACI for 20 years. Atara will be teaching as many groups as we have participants for on Tuesday mornings.

Cost of the class NIS 200 (per four week month). Each lesson is two academic hours. Classes that Atara offers include complete beginners (possibility for more than once a week); beginners; post ulpan; intermediate and advanced Hebrew literature.

Hebrew Literature
In addition to our regular Hebrew lessons with Atara Hadad on a Tuesday morning we also have a group whose Hebrew studies are based on Hebrew literature. This semester they are reading “The pigeon and the youth” by Meir Shalev.

The group meets on Sunday afternoons, 4.30 to 6.00pm (not always at the AACI).

If you are interested please call the office and we will put you in touch with Atara.

English for Hebrew : Conversation Exchange
A unique forum where our members can meet with Israelis and exchange languages. Many of our members have been to several ulpan classes and have learnt Hebrew to a level where they can get by. However beyond rudimentary shopping and street survival, many of us lack the opportunity to practice the Hebrew we have learnt. Many Israelis are in the same position with their English.  They have paid for numerous courses but don’t have the chance to really use their English. In the informal atmosphere of the Render Dow Hall you will be matched up with an Israeli who wants to practice English, half the time will be spent talking in Hebrew and the other half in English. This project is meant for people who are not complete beginners.
If you are interested please leave your name at the front desk.

This year we are offering a variety of different level Hebrew classes according to the participants level.
