The Israel Genealogy Society Netanya Branch meeting at the AACI will
have a guest speaker. Dr. Martha Lev-Zion is a genealogist and historian
and will speak on the origins, history and fate of Courland's Jews. She
will report on her visits to Riga and Kuldiga (Goldingen) where she
attended meetings regarding the refurbishment of the main synagogue to
commemorate the once active Latvian Jewish Community. She is a
descendant of Latvian Jewish emigrants and is founder and president of
the Israel Genealogy Society's Negev Branch, a former board member of
the International Association of Jewish Genealogy Societies and a
steering committee member of the Courland Research Group.
