The Music Man   6.30pm Thursday 22 February   Matnas Ir Yamim
LOGON (The Light Opera Group of the Negev) will be staging the musical The Music Man for its 2018 production. Traveling con man Harold Hill arrives in River City, Iowa, in 1912 and convinces the locals they are facing the corrupting effects on their children of a new pool table in town. To avoid this wickedness, Harold promises the naive townsfolk he'll start a children's band and they can purchase the uniforms and instruments from him. He promises to train the members of the new band, but he's no musician and plans to skip town without giving any music lessons. The music, which is at once celebratory and uplifting, includes
Ya Got Trouble Right Here in River City, Seventy Six Trombones, Till There Was You and Wells Fargo Wagon. LOGON staged The Music Man back in 2001 to enthusiastic audiences. Many of the children who performed in that production returned to LOGON as teens and adults to become some of the company's staple performers. LOGON now hopes to introduce this wonderful show to a new generation of theatergoers.
This year LOGON is celebrating its 37th anniversary, making it the oldest existing English language theater group in Israel.

Tickets NIS 125 available from 1 January.
