Summer
Treat: Delights in the North Thursday 1 July
We will travel north to the Golan and our first stop
will be the Banias
Reserve. The spring
emerges at the foot of
Mount Hermon and flows powerfully
through a canyon eventually leading to the
Banias Waterfall,
the most impressive cascade in
Israel.
In July, the berry season in
Israel
is in full swing and we will visit the
fruit-picking farm,
Sha’al, to learn about
growing soft fruit combined with an all-you-can-eat experience!
Blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, and cherries are all part of their
self-picking menu. Whatever you pick will be weighed for you to pay and take
away. (Clothes may get a little dirty from the fruit picking.)
Our kosher meat self-service lunch stop will be at the
YHA at Tel Chai
or, alternatively, you may bring your own.
We
shall visit the Museum of Photography
in the Tel-Hai Industrial Park.
The museum includes a series of exhibitions of the work of many renowned
local and international photographers.
At Kibbutz Kfar
Giladi, our last visit, we will hear about the
pre-state arms cache of the kibbutz known as the
"slik”.
Please note that our lunch stop
will be at 2.00pm.
You might want to bring a mid-morning snack to have with our coffee break at
Sha’al.
Cost: Early Bird NIS 225
After 17/5/2010:
NIS 235
Optional Kosher Meat Lunch
NIS
60
