Gypsy Ron, portrait painter, muralist, decorative and theatre arts artist and teacher, comes from the USA. She and her Israeli husband Simon, now retired, came on aliya and settled in Netanya. She studied at the Art Students League and the School of Visual Arts in New York.

Gypsy is a member of the Netanya Art Association.

In 2007 she was the recipient of the Netanya Mayors art award prize. The association asked 3 independent judges from Israel to choose 3 artists for their outstanding work and Gypsys’ exhibit entitled Ben Gurion's Dream was chosen.  The opening and presentation of the prizes by Mayor Miriam Feirberg took place in September 2007.   Gypsy teaches two classes at the Netanya AACI on Monday and Tuesday mornings.

Places are hard to come by as students rarely leave. There is a waiting list at the AACI reception, if you would like to be called when a vacancy becomes available please add your name to the list.
