Coca Cola
& Highway Six
Wednesday, 7 January, 2009
You
probably have driven past the Coca
Cola factory in
Bnei Brak many times. Have
you ever wondered what goes on in there? How is this worldwide popular soft
drink manufactured and bottled? Now's your chance to visit the factory and see
for yourself. It is owned by the Central Bottling Company which has held the
Israeli franchise for Coca Cola
products since 1968. It is among Coca Cola's ten largest single-bottling
facilities worldwide and has won prizes for innovative technology as well as
recognition for its environmental-friendly operations and ongoing community
services.
From there we
continue to Rosh Ha’Ayin
to visit the Control Center for Highway Six,
also known as the Yitzhak Rabin Cross-Israel Highway. Kvish Shesh is the largest
infrastructure project in the history of the State of Israel and has cost 1.3
billion dollars. We will learn about the integrated traffic management system,
the electronic toll system and the Hebrew character implementation of a system
that offers variable message signs, graphic displays and applications that
provide functions ranging from alarm management to loop configuration. The
highway is not complete and sections are still under construction.
