Anti-Semitism

10.30am Sunday 8 December

Yoel Sheridan made Aliyah in 1973 with his wife, Tova, in the middle of the Yom Kippur War. He worked here in Israel as a management consultant while writing Doing Business in Israel books in his own name and for the government, banks and leading Certified Public Accountants. After his retirement, he researched and wrote his books From Here to Obscurity and Gold Ducats and Devilry Afoot, both available in our library. He has also written many articles including a controversial view on how to deal with the anomalies in the Israeli electoral system and on the dangers to pedestrians on Israel’s roads. Yoel has spoken at Netanya AACI on various occasions in the past.  You may have noticed there is more anti-Semitism about! Can you describe it? To what do you ascribe it? Is it endemic in western society? How does Israel enter or alter the equation? Existing definitions are legalistic to enable court proceedings against the anti-Semitic culprits, but what is the real nature of this evil concept?

Come listen to and discuss its basic nature and comprehensive definition.
