Meet the Australian Ambassador Paul Griffiths
who will give a lecture on
7.30pm Monday 16 November
Ambassador Paul Griffiths commenced as Australia’s Ambassador to Israel in September. He is a senior career officer of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and has most recently worked in the private sector for US tech firm Palantir Technologies in London. From 2016-2019, he was Minister-Counsellor and head of the Political Branch at the Australian Embassy in Washington. He has also worked overseas as head of the political team in Jakarta, (Australia’s largest embassy) and in trade and economic positions in Manila and Seoul. He holds a Bachelor of Arts/Law degree from the University of Tasmania and a Master’s degree in International Trade and Finance from Deakin University and has completed executive leadership courses, including at Harvard University.
Ambassador Griffiths is keen to further build the Australia-Israel bilateral relationship. He sees great scope to do more to link Australia to Israel’s world-class start-up ecosystem, including through the Australian Government’s Landing Pad located in Tel Aviv’s SOSA innovation hub.
Join us to welcome Ambassador Griffiths for an update us on Israeli-Australian relations. He will also give us an insight into diplomacy in times of Corona and how he is settling into his new position with restrictions on gatherings and meetings.
