July 10-9:30 am
Wednesday 10 July
Our first stop is The Peres Center for Peace and Innovation, founded in 1996 by the late Shimon Peres. The Center develops and implements impactful and meaningful programs to promote a prosperous Israel, highlighting Israeli innovation and paving the way for shared living between all of Israel’s citizens and lasting peace between Israel and its neighbors.
The recently opened Visitors’ Center presents the incredible story of Israel, the “innovation nation”, showcasing the diverse fields and people behind Israeli innovation.
Remaining in Jaffa we have arranged an optional lunch at Dr. Shakshuka a legendary and popular kosher restaurant that serves simple but delicious food and is famous for its shakshuka.
We then go on to the Lehi Museum which is located in the Florentine neighborhood of Tel Aviv. The exciting story of the Lehi underground leader, Avraham (Yair) Stern, and the activities of the underground organization in the war to liberate Israel from the yoke of foreign rule is told in the original apartment where he spent his final days. The exhibits include a multimedia presentation, films, models, maps, weapons and original documents.
