Netanya AACI Art Members’ Collection

From 26 November

The students of the Netanya AACI Art class have been pursuing their own creative interests and producing masterpieces in pencil, charcoal, watercolors and acrylic painting. For over 30 years, our art teacher Ruth Lenk has worked in the field of Art, whether it was creating in-house graphics for McDonnel Douglas Astronautics Corporation, designing publications for The Jerusalem Post, teaching elementary school Art in Azerbaijan and Israel, or running workshops for the underprivileged in South Africa. Our thanks to Ruth for facilitating this exhibition.

The class meets every Wednesday, from 9.30-11.30am. All are welcome. No experience needed.

Contributing members:

Anna Rosenfelder first experienced painting at secondary school in London in 1948. Totally hopeless at drawing or painting, she thoroughly enjoyed the experience with bright colors and sloshing paint on large sheets of grey drawing paper. Anna then did not paint again until the 1970s. She finds painting is the best therapy. Her favorite medium is oil painting, but she has also worked with acrylics, charcoal, and pastel. Anna enjoys painting nature but is always happy to try something new. She is delighted to have joined the Netanya AACI art class.

Edith Maor moved to Israel in 1971 and to Netanya in 2012. She has been drawing all her life and started painting in acrylics after she joined the Netanya AACI art group.

Sue Aizenfish was in her 40s when she attended an art class and discovered that she could create artwork that didn’t look too shabby! She then took a break for many years and started again two years ago at Netanya AACI. She just loves the feeling of creating something beautiful and enjoys the process. Her favorite medium is watercolor and her weapon of choice is a very thin brush with as few hairs as possible!! She considers herself fortunate to have found something she truly loves to do.

Chani Greenberger is originally from the United States. She discovered the art of drawing and painting just a couple of years ago. Though she prefers to work with watercolors, she experiments with acrylic as well.

Don Silverbergis an 82-year-old retired physician. He started painting for the first time two years ago at the AACI. His painting interests range from all things nature: trees, animals, birds and fish, to still-life, figure drawing, and abstract art. He uses many different types of media including pastels, watercolor, India ink, charcoal, and colored pens on both black and white paper.
