Qigong is a system of movements and exercises combined with meditation, regulation of breathing and proper posture. The goal of Qigong is to even out energy to help heal, give you added strength and build up your immune system to keep you healthy. Loose clothing and flat shoes (or bare feet) are best for these exercises.
We are adding a second Qigong class on Wednesdays at 5.00pm. This additional class will also concentrate on more physically challenging exercises. It will be a 5 week course, learning each week one of the five classic animals in Chinese Qigong practice. Our goal is to understand how animals relate to nature. Learning to imitate their characteristics during our daily lives will help us channel our energy in a more refined way.
Schools throughout the world concentrate on slightly different sets of animals. We will learn Tiger, Snake, Crane, Leopard and Dragon. Each animal has a strong effect on a specific element as well as one or more secondary elements interacting with our lives and energy flow. The elements are Earth, Metal, Water, Wood and Fire.
Five weeks is enough to only give a glimpse into the way we can learn from these animals. We will continue to refine this knowledge during additional Wednesday sessions as an ongoing class at Netanya AACI. Looking forward to a new learning experience
