Netanya AACI Art Group Exhibition
June 26 - September 1
New Art Exhibition
Ruth Lenk & Netanya AACI Art Group
On display from 26 June until 1 September
This exhibition covers a lot of work by many people.
The AACI offers an Art class every week, taught by Ruth Lenk. The class, which began last October, started from the very basics of Art. Participants drew simple lines, discovered the difference between shape and form and experimented with color mixing. Now they are perusing their own interests and using a variety of medium including pencil, charcoal, watercolors and acrylic painting.
Our teacher, Ruth Lenk, has worked in the field of Art for over 30 years, whether it was creating in-house graphics for McDonnel Douglas Astronautics Corporation, designing publications for The Jerusalem Post, teaching elementary school Art in Azerbaijan and Israel, or running workshops for the underprivileged in South Africa.
She and her family have travelled the world, courtesy of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and have been extremely blessed to experience so many different cultures and peoples. From each place where she has lived, Ruth studies the work of local artists and cultural trends, changing her own work to reflect where she is. Ruth has tried to absorb the local patterns, colors, textures, and motifs, and incorporate them into her evolving artwork.
Now settled back in Israel, she is continuing to create new works, learn new skills and share her knowledge with others.
